Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment – For a smoother, wrinkle free appearance
All of us laugh, smile and frown and over the years these actions develop facial lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle treatments are achieved by using Botulinum Toxin Type A (BOTOX®, Azzalure®, Dysport®, Vistabel® or Bocouture®). Wrinkle relaxing treatment uses tiny amounts of toxin that is injected, using a disposable syringe, into the muscles that cause the skin to crease, allowing the lines to soften or even fade away.
BOTOX® injections are an effective treatment proven to discreetly and safely soften lines on the face and neck and décolletage. Used extensively across many countries, it remains one of the most widely researched medicines and its use and effectiveness in cosmetic medicine is well established.
The BOTOX®toxin blocks impulses from the nerve to the targeted facial muscles. These muscles relax so they can no longer contract hence removing the wrinkles.
The aim to give you a natural result without a “frozen” appearance. Many areas of the face can benefit from such a subtle treatment. The lines that respond particularly well to anti-wrinkle injections are:
- Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
- Glabella complex (frown lines between the eyebrows)
- Forehead lines
A very fine needle is used, most clients find that there is only mild and temporary discomfort. The entire procedure usually takes no longer than 15 minutes. You may return to normal activities straight after treatment – many people have the procedure in their lunch break.
Following treatment you should avoid touching the area, strenuous exercise, lying down and alcohol for several hours. Facial treatments should be avoided for 2 weeks following treatment.
An improvement will be noticeable in treated areas within two weeks, with results lasting up to four months. Maintenance treatment is likely to be required every 3-4 months for a lasting result during the first two years of treatment with longer intervals thereafter.
Wrinkle relaxing treatment is not suitable for:
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- People with a history of myasthenia gravis or other neuromuscular transmission disorders
- Any patients known to have sensitivity to Botulin toxin
Possible side effects
- Transient headaches (although some headaches may actually improve)
- Temporary bruising and a small amount of bleeding though this can be reduced by not drinking alcohol the day before the procedure
- Twitching the eye – occasionally but not a long term effect
- Temporary drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow – rarely
- Temporary double vision – rarely
Our aim is to provide a natural and softer appearance, not the “frozen” often associated with anti-wrinkle injections. When it’s done well, no one should know you’ve had the procedure, just that you look fresher.
One area from £190
